Default Oil Pressure Gauge

Looking for recommendations on a gauge

One that I can still use the idiot light
liquid filled vs dry
something that won't fall apart from the shake rattle and roll

My personal view on having an oil pressure gauge is: Don't. And I've had at least four on my 93 since new. Two HD (MoCo accessory gauges that hooked to a rocker box bolt using a longish tube to the tappet filter plug), one Accel, and one either Custom Chrome or Drag Specialties (can't remember). Both the latter, hooked directly to the tappet filter plug with a fitting. All liquid filled. They all eventually leaked out the silicone. For the most part they were just trinkets on the engine. I pulled the last one off a good ten or so years ago, and haven't missed it one bit.

Here's a third vote for not using one.
EVO's depend way more on flow than pressure and will just cause you to worry about something that isn't a problem.
As long as the light is off you're good.

My favourite local indy loathes the darned things with a passion, reckons they are more trouble than they are worth, because owners start hyper-ventilating over 'pressure'. For your own sanity pass on that idea and enjoy the rest of your life!

I may have a solution. I used to sell kits for oil pressure gauges for old Honda V4's. It used a few fittings to tap into the factory oil pressure sensor for the idiot light creating a T and allowed the use of a small liquid filled gauge.

I don't know where the oil sensor is on your bike, for if you're interested in the idea PM me and I'll send a few pics of what I did.

Nothing wrong with a back up.. when I bought my Fatboy in 03 it came with a liquid filled gauge.. Never leaked and it's still there.. don't know the brand.. never looked into it... I'm kinda a stickler on oil pressure and temps but to each their own..

because this aint yer dads pickup truck, it is a plain bearing engine
Harleys only require enough "pressure" to provide the appropriate Flow
which aint much at all
spend the money on yer Chevy
