As far as I know the proper screw for the rear brake rotor is a pan head torx 3/8 x 16 1". Even the rotor has a step in it where the screw sits to help center the rotor. I've never seen a countersunk screw on a brake rotor.. Maybe you should get better rotors with the proper screws..
Looks like you're doing a great job on the restore. This coming winter, on my 95 FXSTC I plan on redoing my handle bars similar to what your bike is sporting, like the looks and I got a head start on it with some 6" straight risers on standby.

most of this bike has aftermarket stuff on it. rotors come in countersunk and/or stepped button head screws, why I don't know. the wore out rotors were a match set with the front having stepped button heads and the rear were countersunk. it may have something to do with a clearance issue on the rear as the caliper and bracket are aftermarket. but I didn't look at that before tearing it down.
alright back at it today. finished up the wiring for the front end, headlight and directionals installed and wired.. replaced S&S G carb and intake with S&S E carb and intake. pics are not great but here is a peak down the intake holes in the heads
Front head intake rear head intake
rear intake looking fairly carboned up.
question for you electronic guys out there. I installed a new JP ribbed headlight with H4 bulb. it has extra wires coming out of it. what are they for? yellow wire with spade connector and an extra but smaller black wire.
I got it wired up fine and working, but what are these extra wires for? JP headlight
the connector on the bike only has three wires
