I love my bike but to me this isnt the best looking feature. I current have the fairing shell on it, but would like to take it off. I know its jammed packed with electrical components but is there a way to replace it to resemble the old flh or even a road king set up? To me bare bones is better so im not afraid to lose a speedo or tach.
Not dissing any one.... But those dashes remind me way too much of the cheap dashes the big three (Chrysler, Chevy, Ford) were trying to sell to the public back in the 80"s.. Yes they are functional but to me an eyesore.. I truly like a clean look.. And lets not get into the wiring behind it all... LOL....
Bike looks good though.. I like the color scheme....

YES! I wont touch it if i have to mess with the wiring. If it all can stay in place and a RK nacelle can just cover it all up, thatd be great. I mean, it could be a great platform to run coke lines off of at a roudy biker party.lol but thatd never happen.

Without a doubt... It kinda looks good they way it is, without the fairing that is.... Kinda reminds me of those old Moto Guzzi front ends.... They make a statement when they enter a parking lot....
I converted an FLT to a "Sport" model like the pic, it was a much bigger job than I expected and cost more than it was worth. I would have been farther ahead to sell it and buy what I wanted.

Hey thats your bike!? Its a beaut.. Thats the only one on google images that I could reference my ideas to. I found a chrome nacelle like that one on ebay for 30 dollars that has been tempting me. RK ones are awfully pricey.

On a Road King the speedo and main switch are in the gas tank, whereas on the splendid FLHS they are all in the front headlight unit. I suspect you will have to mess with the wiring. Another consideration is that the FLHS has a front wheel driven speedo drive, whereas IIRC a RK uses a later spec transmission with an electrical speedo link. So while it can and has been done, I suspect it will require some effort and expense.
