Default I've got this far, replace the Torrington, right?

Hey Folks!

I'm planning on leaving my '93 FLHTCU stock, so I'm going to be keeping this cam, but while I'm in there, should I at least replace the Torrington? I'll need to buy a tool to remove and replace it, but my garage is FULL of tools I've used once, so what's another one, huh?

You should replace the bearing. Go to Autozone and get the blind hole puller and bearing installer from their free rental tools. That's all you need to do the job.

At this point and In that heavy bike it would be a shame not to replace the cam with an EV-13... not a big deal to tune a carb...

Here is another option:

Your stock cam is actually an emissions control device. It makes your bike run worse than it did in the earlier evo years. Put in a new aftermarket cam like the EV13. Besides the bearing and cam, replace lifters. It would be silly not to and you will be glad you did. But gotta say, hey, it's your ride, so the answer to your question is "yes". YD

Ditch the stock cam, the bike will thank you later. No reason to put old lifters back, OEM replacement would be my go to. And free tool rental is the way to go if your local store has it, way better then adding to the pile of one time used tools.

Anyone need a GM pitman arm puller??? Used once in 1995!!!

Ya' know, this whole project started out as just a replacement of the cylinder base gaskets! Now it's cams and lifters!!!

Well, you guys warned me. You're all good at helping others spend money!

What else are you going to do during quarantine, and we can't think of a better way to spend your stimulus check.

It's not about spending your money.. Hell If I wanted to spend money that wouldn't be an issue... It's about getting you to do the right thing while it's apart... Most all of us have been there... You will thank yourself later... seriously , you will..
