Default No speedometer or odometer

well, just like it says, they both quit on Sunday. Odo doesn't read any numbers at all. Cleaned the speed sensor, which was pretty well covered, but that didn't help. Anything else I can check before I buy a sensor and or a new speedometer?
thanks!

All I have for you is you want the dealership to set up your new speedometer, if needed, with your original odometer reading. Not sure how that works with a bike of your vintage, but it will help with resale later if you can prove the odometer reading, on a new speedometer, is still accurate, Good luck.

I'll never sell the sheriff, but I take your point. I've not been riding since the failure because I want to keep the miles accurate, if only for my own reference. It's tough though, as this is some of the nicest weather I've seen in a long time.

Check connections on your ignition switch for corrosion. Happened to me. Bike ran fine, no speedo or odo, no turn signals.

Went for a short ride to the dealer with my buddy, he was getting an inspection. Everything started working about 5 miles into the trip. I got a speed sensor coming while I was there anyway. I did check and clean the connection at the ignition switch as well as the sensor terminal before I left, to no avail. At least it's working for now and I'll have a sensor on the shelf.

Sounds like something is loose or corroded. Taking a ride bounced it around to get it working again. Check every wires and connector associated with the speedometer, something is getting ready to fail permanently. Glad it is working for you now though.
