Cool

You're buttering your bread on both sides there, what with fans plus a cooler. Does the poor thing ever get to warm up?!
LOL ...yes , it dose get to warm up down here in the DEEP SOUTH...!!! where we rarely see temps below 50 degrees F ...when we do ...things run very well when they can dissipate the added heat from cams ,pistons ,heads etc!!

II hear that some of those twin cams run really hot, enough to burn the inside of your thighs so I can understand what Springers is doing there...
yes ..your right ...but we do this for the motor ...not rider comfort...as 240-260 degree's is hot to sit on no matter what ...even if water cooled !!!

The op was asking about placement of the cooler ...and we like this position the most ...but with lowers and crash bars ...this may not be an option , but works really well for us . dont have a picture of the front of the cooler at this time ,but it looks brand new and just like the back side dose here ...still !!!
we would suggest to mount it anywhere possible ,make custom brackets if needed ...etc ...just get one on the bike somewhere...anything you can do to rid the motor of heat ...is the main idea !!!
oil cooler is to cool the oil ...fans are to cool the heads. movement cools everything else !!! (meaning the rider) !!! no stuck in traffic ...take shoulder , lane split to nearness back road and keep moving to nearest watering hole !!!
good luck
