My '06 EG Classic looks like it came stock with an oil cooler. What are you guys talking about?
As far as I know, the only Harleys that come stock with an oil cooler are the CVO and Screaming Eagle bikes.
Yours was probably added at the dealer.
While we're on the subject, I added one to my 07 Road Glide. My oil temps are running right around 190 although I expect higher temps this summer. Seems to be running at least 30 degrees cooler than before the install.
IMO, our bikes should come from the factory with an oil cooler.
Windup08 and sleepneagle are correct. Design setting is advertised at 185 degrees, probably is +/- 5 degrees. It keeps mine in the 200 to 220 range when its hot, usually.
