oil pressure

Question oil pressure

i have a 1994 eglide all stock.i installed an ev27 cam, feuling lifters,base gaskets and head gaskets.i started the bike and oil pressure is high?the guage is pinned.is this normal since everything was installed with assembly lube?i am going to do an oil change and jetting.also .thanks.

Miracles do happen? Ha.. How does it sound. I would try another gage before I believed that. My concern would be it's not going past the gage if that is correct.

You really only need assembly lube if rebuild sits.

When you reinstalled the lifter covers did you use the alignment bolts? You might not have aligned the oil holes and gaskets.

Check connections of your sender wires. If memory serves, the oil pressure signal on these is backward from most. That is, more resistance, the higher the gauge reads. Does the oil light work correctly?

Yea....if the connections on the sender are reversed, the gauge will read max oil pressure.

The only real oil pressure gauge you need is your ears. If the lifters are quiet, you're fine.

True... unless he overdosed the cam cover gasket with blue glue and plugged the oil feed to the bottom end

Thumbs up oil pressure gage pinned

thanks and ill check the sender unit wires,the idiot light goes out when running,and yes i used the alignment tools on the lifter blocks.the bike and sounds fine ,no unusual noises and no blue glue.

A pinned gauge often results from a ground issue, FWIW.
