Hi guys,
I cannot find a set of slip on mufflers anywhere to fit my 1996 Heritage softail with the oem head pipes that are 1 3/4".... None of the expected major manufactures list mufflers for evo bikes, although one has for a dyna.
Anyone know? Just looking for a decent performing 3" slip on.
For the Touring range any system up to 2008 will fit an Evo, although the mounting brackets may need mods to fit correctly. As for your bike any similar style and shape of muffler to your current ones should work, with the same reservation - in other words getting the mountings just right. Are there any for twincams that are the right style?

Yes, it's exactly the mounting point and bracket that is the problem. There are dozens of mufflers that fit my 1 3/4" head pipes, but no brackets to hold them in place 😁

Then 'we' need to get creative! Do those mufflers come with a fitting bracket? Do you have your original brackets that fit to your frame? In which case it should be possible to marry/bolt/weld one to the other, and voila! Just a thought....
This may be a stupid question, but I just did a search on J&P's website for slip-on mufflers to fit your 1996 Heritage Softail and it returned three pages of results. Are you saying none of those will work?

hey Dave, yes there are plenty of results that show up - but none of them are an exact fit, they are all universal / custom fit that requires some bracket fabrication. None of them look even close to being a proper fit. See post #3
Thanks.
