If I recall, the Evo Sportster, at least 1987 vintage, has a narrower swingarm than a big twin. I could go measure one and a '86 FLHT if it is that important. I was going to put a belt drive on the 883 back in about 88 or so. I think it was Primo that had some pulleys and a belt for them, but it required heating the swingarm and spreading it apart, then using a longer axle from a big twin. I bought the axle, had a hydraulic jack for it, was getting ready to buy the pulleys and belt when HD came out with a bolt on kit that didn't need any swingarm changes and had everything needed, so I went that route instead.

That may be... I have Little experience with 4-speed Sportsters that are not Ironheads...The Axle in the 5-speed Sporty must be the same tho as the typical Big twins, as I certainly interchanged them..
