My Heritage looked great with spokes...gave it a classic look. Broken spokes and flaking chrome on the hoops kept me from re-lacing, so I wound up going with mags which changed the look of the bike.

The mags are easier to keep clean though.

O.E. Wheels, and Hubs, and Spokes, have Never given me a moments problem.. Aftermarket, especially Chrome, from the far east is always troublesome, and I avoid it..

One would say you don't ride enough. My rear spoked wheel started to give me problems after 20k.

Yup, spoke wheels look great, just a pain in the *** maintenance & cleaning wise. I've has 2 sets of spoked wheels & rims rust on me, I always end up back with mags.

I like spokes, but I always ditch the stock spokes in favor of Stainless Steel from Buchanan, the stay nice and are much easier to clean with a smooth finish. I also seem to like black wheels, so I powder coat the rim and hub, no more concerns with rust. I also park my bikes in a tempered space not outside or in Florida near the beach. But I do live on an Island, still no issues.

I do Not personally prefer Stainless.... Except for looks... I have not found them Stronger...Unless Thicker of course.
In the day, we were likely to have Spoked Wheels on DragBikes... That is an Acid Test... Most of us went to Spun Aluminum... or Custom PM, etc..

BTW, .. Only the Toby Bike sleeps outside here.. everything else has a Home inside.

Buchanan Spokes are "Top Shelf" for sure ... I've used them several times

Only because I know people who can Wreck a bowling ball, with a rubber mallet.
Now if there is a lack of Maintenance, as called out by the trusty Service Manual!!!! Who Knows..
My '82 got Spokers VS the Mags right from the dealership.. I liked 'em...the ole girl has reached retirement, in Age and Mileage by now..
Yet last I pulled Maintenance inspection.. The Spokes are good.. And very few Burnouts, But Plenty of WheelStands...it is an FXR after all.....
Easiest Harley to Wheelie I ever rode....besides a DragBike....
