I have be putting this 85 fxsb back together for my aunt. got a stupid is there something that come off this nipple on the right tank it goes to the vent but it looks block? It was painted in 2014 and been apart since. she is the original owner but isnt too technical . thanks

its simple, open it up and run a hose from that nipple to the other nipple just like it on the other tank, their should be a crossover hose from tank to tank at the top too under your dash
No... If the crossover is attached right to left... I'm thinking that is the Overflow tube from the Filler ... fuel cap area..or Vent as THC has stated..Matter of terminology... but I believe it leads to the Filler neck!!!

thanks. so open it and run a hose to the ground? it seems like it runs from the tube under the gas cap. i dont know if its just plugged with paint.
