Default 1997 fatboy bobber build

figured I'd come over here to start a build thread.

1997 fatboy. all tins either scratched or dented from a low side. picked the bike up from a guy who cant ride anymore

going to make a sorta rigid looking bobber outta it. here is how it looked when i got it, and here is how it looks as I await parts from black friday



if you squint it almost looks mint..lol 27k miles new carb new fluids new seat rashed pipes rashed master cylinder rashed brake lever rear fender scratched headlight rashed

dented left side tank

dented right side tank

rashed air cleaner cover

dented horn cover

loose shifter linkage

current status:



offerup tank so i can ride bike while new tank gets sealed and painted

installed

purple....... not my cup of tea but ridable

cutting rear fender struts off

sooooo ugly...

rsd tracker fender. but was just a mock up for a chopped fender in future. ill be getting the fender attached to swingarm and no fender struts.

shinko 270 16x5.00 front and rear tires

older looking clutch lever



3 wire turn signal to make brake light from

drag scorpion seat

new tubes

weld on swingarm fender mounts

gas cap

single throttle cable, 1" throttle sleeve and cheap grips for now

5 3/4 headlight

weld on backbone tank bungs

5" rear fender

2.1 gallon wasle mid tunnel tank

1\" axle mount plate holder

I think to start I'll use the fatboy front end. but I'm looking for a good deal on a 30's thru 40's springer. they are 2" shorter in that year range compared to 50s springers

Gonna cost big $$$$, look at reproductions for your application.
