The one in the exhaust position now is true, tube is relieved to same ID as the end I cut to length.
sanded sanded the pushrod a bit too (so i will see future marks if they occur)..
Out of town working, we will know friday if I can make it work.
I've been through this myself. I had the same issue with Harley's "Screamin' Eagle' pushrods. The front exhaust pushrod would rock the tube enough to cause an oil leak at the pushrod cover. Eventually, the dealer let me sort through two sets of pushrods to find four with the least wobble. I then took the one that ran with the least runout and installed that one in the front exhaust position, as that pushrod has the greatest angle. It worked, but it sucks that I had to go through all that trouble.

Just part of the journey I reckon.
I did the same. (Straightest one in front) Gonna test it this weekend after i get out of this frozen ohio tundra.
Gonna need to fire it up to finish setting the cold-hot idle. Then Its on to tuning for new cam.
is it spring yet?
The rods are doing their job again with "less" racket, I think I can feel some light rubbing if I wrestle the tube around a bit during Idle.
Still a pretty noisy old bike, but miles will tell, road through the hills here in the momentary warm spell, EVO performance (with evo racket)
Sure is a swell bike anyway!
