Rear brake light stays on help

If I'm reading this right, and you disconnected the hot wires from both brake switches, something's not wired correctly.

Were both wires still off after you put in the new bulb?

Both filaments or just the running filament?
Might be time for the DMM.

I pulled both wires off the rear brake switch

I pulled the front brake handle and pushed and pulled in on the rod and the brake light is going off and on

where is the wire for the front brake switch located? There are two wires on the rear pressure switch. Is there another for the front?

Sometimes the front brake light wires can get pinched between the handle bars and switch housings, its a tight fit, or the switch is bad or brake lever the part maybe broken that pushes the switch in
