Recap. Picked this 1999 Fatboy up a couple weeks ago. Had a lot of rust and chrome damage. So far:

Swingarm removed and powder coated. It had the most rust on it.
Primary powder coated wrinkle black.
Coil cover powder black
horn cover powder coated black
transmission top and side covers, black
black head bolt covers
black rear strut covers
black mirrors
black oil tank
Black floorboards off of my roadglide
black shifter off of my roadglide
brake pedal and cover off of my Roadglide.

other odd and end stuff. Gonna ride it some before I tear into the front end. here’s some pics

I remember seeing your other thread. Good to see you're doing a restoration instead of riding it into the ground. It deserves a new life.

There will be a time when the common machines will be uncommon to find.

Default Updates

Sorry, been a few weeks. Here’s a couple new updated pics. Swapped out bars, black headlight, the black tins on forks were installed today but don’t have a pic yet. Added some more black pieces around it. I love the beach bars so far. Thinking about raising the headlight an inch or so to make it a little different. Carb rebuilt, manifold gaskets replaced, choke cable replaced, clutch perch replaced, some other odd and end stuff. Waiting on a brake line now. I need a new master cylinder, the salty air has gotten the best of this one. Still works but uuuuugly

black tins installed, brake line came in today. Got it test fitted. Need some clamps for it. Also just a pic of the wire extensions being soldered on.

After some rear brake issues fixed got her off the lift today and rode around for a bit with a grin from ear to ear. Here’s some updated pics. Looking for a 1 piece dash right now.

Those lower legs will clean up nicely with some aircraft stripper then light sanding followed by polishing. Looking good.

And with the lowers polished up, it will look great sitting just below the black uppers. Bike is looking good, tastefully done!
