SE heads & pushrods
A relative of mine just bought a 1995 Road King. He already bought SE heads and a EV27 cam plus the Torrington bearing.
He’s asking me if standard factory pushrods will work with that setup.
I know factory pushrods work with the EV27….but with SE heads also?
I say factory pushrods would be fine, just noisy. I could be wrong….

The stock rods have been used many times.
It is said the EV27 is prone to some noise.
Caused more so from the cam rather than the rods.
Myself I like the stock rods over adjustable when they can be used.

Stock pushrods will be fine.
The only time you need to use adjustables is when you have a high lift cam.
In other words the only thing that affects pushrods is your cam choice.
EV 27 is NOT a high lift cam.

You guys were right…..I assumed adjustables were required for SE heads. I thought I read it several years ago. Learn something everyday😀

The nice thing about the SE heads is that it will bump up the compression and do flow a little better than stock.. Make sure you replace the cylinder base gaskets and use a .030" head gasket.. Should be a fun ride..
