Default 96 electra glide tall seat

Hello everyone, I will be picking up my first harley within the next week. I went and checked out a 96 electra glide yesterday, 9019 original miles, always well maintained and garage kept... got a smoking deal on it too. I'm a pretty big and tall guy, 6'3" and 300 lbs. The stock seat just didn't feel right on the bike. I'm hoping to find one that will move me up and back a little bit so that I'm in a more comfortable position. I spent some time last night looking for a seat online, but didn't see any for a 96, I saw plenty for 97 and up bikes though. I was hoping you all might be able to direct me on where to look. Thank you everyone.

You might have better luck getting your current seat modified by Mean City Cycles. They basically rebuild your seat based on your weight and measurements. It can also be a less expensive option than buying a new seat.

I agree…..what seat is currently on the bike? If it’s the original, then it’s 25 years old. Long over due for replacement or getting redone.

If it’s got the stock seat….it’s probably worn out after all these years. Ride one with an aftermarket or a redone seat….you’ll realize stock seats kinda suck.

You can also shop for a 95-96 Road King seat. There's more options for that bike out there. The nose is shorter but there's a piece to cover the spot.

Thanks guys. It is the stock seat as far as I'm aware, and appears to be in pristine condition. I was hoping to get a second seat new from whatever manufacturer, but unfortunately just haven't seen one that offers a changed position for tall riders. Is there any place you all could recommend picking up a used seat for cheap, so that I can send it off and have it redone, so I don't have any downtime on the bike?

I have gotten seats in the classified part of the forum but being a 96 that is a stretch.
Ebay Market Place and such. Just watch out on the shipping charges

Addition to my post - if you go with a RK seat you'd need to do away with the EG luggage rack and replace with the RK set-up as the seat bolts directly to the fender.
