FLT Tour Glide chassis and FXR's seem relatively similar due to the triangular sections and frame design and they had the Police Version of an FXRT, so you should be able to do something
is there a kt available for putting hards ags from an early 2000,s bike onto a 1984 FXR?
Thanks
I bought these FXRT bags off of eBay and mounted them on this 1994 FXLR. It was a pretty straightforward install. I had to use FXRP/FXRT fender struts and relocate the blinkers.
The FXRT TommyC posted above would be the way to go, unless you already have the bags you're referring to, or can source them at a reasonably low cost.
When I wanted quality saddlebags on my '85 FXRS, I looked around for FXRT/FXRD components and found them to be scarce and costly. In 2012 I decided to go with "Iron Bags". Not cheap and not HD...but VERY high quality. For someone like myself who is dedicated to keeping this one bike on the road...it's a worthwhile choice. If you trade bikes every few years, I'm not sure they're for you. Nine years and a LOT of miles later...Still loving them. The picture was taken when new...they still look that good when I keep them clean. http://www.ironbags.com/

Like you, I got the FXRT hard bags but prowled Craigslist to get them. Can you post a pic of your rear blinker set up?

I don't have any pictures of that, but I'll put some up here in the next couple days. It's just the FXR convertible turn signal bar that's been narrowed by a couple inches.

Ah, I was wondering about that. When I installed my bags, I could see the FXRS turn signal assembly wouldn't fit right so I hunted down an FXRT one.
