Appreciated... I am of the Understanding that 1979 FX was Last Factory Kick starters... but... Not Possible... since the 1986 FXWG had a factory kicker..
Yet.. I have Not seen, nor heard of a kicker on the FXEF ...any year
I believe the FXS, and the FXWG, probably All came with Kick Starter... and Only the FXE was left out... of course Not Counting Touring Models..
Some of my Concern revolves around the easily available, and Stone Cheap, Kicker Kits from the aftermarket... POS, and bound to eventually kick thru, and hyper extend yer knee... A most Unpleasant experience... Mostly attributed, (But Not Exclusively) to Sportsters..
I know for certain the 85-86 FXWG's came with a kicker
My 84 FXEF had a kicker. The later style that had the pivot
at the bottom.
I thought the only Shovel's that came w/o a kicker were
the FL's

I am not aware of any FXWG that came without Kicker...I did not think the FXEF came with one.. tho the FXS, and FXWG, definitely Did. My Question tho... is more directed toward the evo 4-speeds... in wonderment that the FXWG had a Kicker, yet the FXEF... Via Google only, seems to be without!!!
The FXEF did not come with a kicker. The FXSB and the FXWG did. The only 86 model with a kicker was the FXWG, and no model has been produced since with a kicker.
The 85 FXSB was evo, 4speed with kicker, and rear belt. I have one.
The 85 FXEF was evo, 4speed without kicker, rear chain.
the 85 and 86 FXWG was evo, 4speed with kicker, rear belt. I have a 85 that I bought new, and have recently sold a 86 and a different 85.

Yup... Kinda got that all... some ...maybe most, from you.
I am simply surprised there was no 1986 FXEF, and now I am suffering from wonderment... when the MoCo dropped the kicker on the FXE, and or FXEF..
Again... I have never seen an FXWG, nor an FXS (including FXSB), without a kicker...
You're correct, all FXWGs had kickers. 1980-86, whether they were shovelhead or evo. I'm less certain about FXS and FXSB, but I think the same applies.
