I guess and for the price of it.. Won't hurt..

You'll get through it man. I almost did the same thing on my cone shovel. Some research here and on Google can save you time and $$$.

Interested to see how it goes. I may be changing out a cam on my evo. Best of luck man.

Thanks, I'll need all the luck I can get. For me, the way my mind works, I second guess myself constantly if there are any variables involved. I'm ok with paying money to know what I have or know what's been done. So for my own sanity check, I'll opt for a set of quickies since I don't know for certain what the push rods are and I know that the EV27 is popular for a reason. I'm very happy with the 48H in my Train and the price from Parts Giant is well worth the peace of mind.

If you haven't already, look up Pacific Mike on Youtube. He's got some great videos on putting a cam in an Evo.

love that guy and I've watched him do the tear down and rebuild of that softail several times. And after watching and doing research, I feel much better getting in there and think I can actually do this. Now it just comes to what cam I want to use.

I'm not even tearing into mine, I just find him informative and actually relaxing to watch/listen to.

After the midwest snow storms pushed my delivery dates back a week or so, I got my Quickies and EV27 in yesterday. Just waiting on gaskets and o rings now. I did remove the tappet blocks and got the rest of the adjustable push rods and tappets out. Noticed the 3 different sizes on the ones I removed though, probably why the rear exhaust rod was adjusted differently than the rest. Tappets seem fine and absolutely no play in the rollers, solid as a rock.

Those lifters look to be in excellent condition.. I'm sure the lifter block bore's look just as good.. what's the mileage on your motor? As for the pushrods it's possible that the long one is a TC pr.. I'll check when I get home..

34k miles. The rods look like new except for that longest one, there's a little marking about 1/4 the way up from the bottom, I can take a better photo when i get off work. I did see a couple lines on the rollers but nothing that makes me question anything, again better pictures tonight.

S&S sez this:

"If S&S® Standard Adjustable pushrod kit contains four different length
pushrods, the longest pushrod is for the front exhaust, next longest is
the rear exhaust. Of the two shorter pushrods, the longer one is the front
intake, the shortest pushrod is the rear intake. Pushrod kits for 1999–
up big twin engines have two different lengths—short for the intakes,
long for the exhausts. Pushrod kits for Sportster® models contain four
identical pushrods."

"S&S Quickee Pushrods for Harley-Davidson® shovel and Evolution®
engines contain two long and two short pushrods. Quickee pushrods
for Sportster® models and 1999–up big twins are the same length."

It's been a few years since I went to the quickies.. I change cams a lot so it made it easier.. Anyways I just check my standard adjustables and yup just like yours.. I guess whoever was in the motor last just didn't put them in the right place.. no big deal as long as the preload was proper..
