Cheers all.

I'll have the VIN to post up tomorrow, closest answer gets an internet beer. The talk of FXR SPs has got me all excited.

Now I just need to find a reasonably priced mid kit to go on.

Shame on the non standard paint, but it's the frame and handling I'm after!

^ I`m sure you`re aware that it came with mids
Probably hard to find take offs in the UK

It is an SP / SE, ( both terms used) I bought one new in 87

Yeah someone blasphemed and stuck the forwards on it, that and the paint job

Oh man parts here are a nightmare, get shafted for import tax from buying via USA and minimal spare parts on the second hand market.

THe list of to dos are ever growing. I'm tempted to strip it back, repaint, bead blast the engine, get some sporty bars on, 2 into 1 exhaust and a slimmer seat.

Stock seat is comfy
Aftermarket choice may be limited due to hinging open design

And yes, the stock h-bar was a fairly low " flat track " style

Never attempt to bead blast an assembled engine. No matter how careful you are, you will get glass beads inside the engine and it will become a paper weight. Seen folks go down this road before......
