Default Oil Filter Mounting Bracket

Hey guys, need a little help. I guess this is a 50/50 guess but I want to be right. On the oil filter mounting bracket, which is the supply and which is the return. I'm guessing the top is the return and the bottom is the supply from the filter. Is this correct? Thanks in advance just want to run these oil lines today.

"In" to the filter is the top, "out" from the filter is the lower one. Yes, it makes a difference. The spring'd bypass vlave only opens one way.

Remember, all automotive oil filters flow from the outside, through the filter element, and out the center.

A lot of guys have hooked them up the wrong way and didn`t notice anything wrong, because they were using an oil filter without an internal anti drainback valve.

As soon as they installed a filter with an anti drainback valve, they came to the forums asking why the oil was puking out the breather and not returning to the oil tank.
