Low RPM Sputtering
Rebuilt the S&S V96 including Shorty E carb, and have 1000 miles on the break in. All good except obnoxious sputtering at around 1500-2000 RPM like when doing 1st gear slow speed parking lot type driving.
Almost feels like ‘missing’ sputter. Above 2000RPM or engine under any load all good. Just checked spark plugs. Look perfect.
Have rechecked idle mixture and accel pump working perfect. Throttle seems a little ‘snatchy’ at those low RPMs too.
VOES? I put a 6Hg one on it. I’m out of ideas.
I need a new plan of diagnosis….

I put on a new Supertrapp Supermeg 2:1 with 20 disks so pretty open. (Replaced a 2:1 Thunderheader)
I’ve got to research jets. I had removed Intermediate jet .0295 and Main jet .074
Don't remember if I rebuilt with a .031 IJ and .076 MJ as per S&S manual.
Hopefully I can research my parts receipts
