Just done a deal for this 1996 Electra Glide from someone who is scaling back his riding as he retires. He spent quite a lot refurbishing it before admitting he wouldn't use it and eventually we agreed a price.
Rode it 130 miles home today, feels good!
It's a bit noisy for my taste and I'd like a police type saddle, if anyone has any suggestions?
Mileage is just over 6,000 and the paperwork matches (British MoT certs have mileage on them so you can check usage). Seems to have spent long periods in storage, just ridden in summer.
Refurbishment was oil change, air filter element, new tyres (still had the original 90s tyres) new belt, swing arm seal(?) and general checkover. V&H slash cuts replaced the originals which were rotten.
Bike actually now has the stock seat and Tour Pak back on. I was in the saddle nearly four hours yesterday with a quick fuel stop after about 2 1/2 hrs and I was quite comfortable.
Bike was a bit skittish until the new tyres scuffed in after a few miles
Weather was quite pleasant for a gallop apart from an absolutely foul hour in the rain, queueing for the Dartford crossing....

Over here stock mufflers are common & cheap
The Police seats can be found readily , the brackets less so and the plastic tray ( unbroken) is rather rare
Remember that there are variations by model year for the seat set up
( Cop seat requires a healthy inseam measurement )
