lol....the meme.

I can't get excited over the new bikes either. A carbed Evo reflects what a motorcycle should be, for me anyways.

You don't see many Supertrapps on the road but I've always used them. The lack of heatshields is a problem but you can always wrap it where it cooks you. I don't mind wrap though.

It was a big industry to make a cover for everything. I've always hated them.

Supertrap sounds good, solid idle..new plugs and wires. Found a deep cut in one, probably would have been a bit shocking in the rain
That Supertrapp looks great.. what model number is that?

Also, are those rocker assemblies off of a Sportster top end? They're very rounded...

Supertrapp model 825-71358 , the boxes I don't know yet. They'll be coming off this winter, chromes pitted/bubbled. Not sure if I'll go with polished aluminum or another set of chrome. My preference is polished aluminum, minimum upkeep [once in the spring] and I enjoy polishing.

I'm amused that no one bothered to remove the reflectors in all these years. Usually its part of my tidying the bike up process. I don't think they do a damn for safety.....I was going to be a rebel and leave them...nah they're coming off. Just occured to me the chrome fork legs don't have them either.

Another winter jobbie will be minimizing the turnsignals. They're like dumbo ears...gotta go slim.

Winter list looks like this:
Rocker boxes
turn signals
reflectors
clean up speedo setup
spoke wheel rear
16'' spoke wheel front
Full suspension

I'm super happy that this particular bike wound up in your hands. Somebody that gives a damn!! Nice job tightening her up.

Got that chrome cover off the trans today. Cleaned up nicely, so I did the cone and oil pump as well. Just a start, but it's cleaning up well.

Nice, I finally started messing with my 95 fxdl barn find. Planning

on a making her a swingarm chop. I'm sure this may become more beloved than my Fatboy Lo bagger I've been building.

Looks like some good bones to start with, start a build thread when you get going.

Sometimes it is a bit painful to purchase the RIGHT tool for the job, but man 30 minutes prep to finish and the time-sert is installed and leak free installed. Shp vac and grease to keep the metal chips in control and done. Bikes oiled up and running!

Time sert kit 122a

drill to size

clean chips, skipped the reamer photo

tool for placing time-sert

in place

and well oiled, just like instructions say to do. RTFM !

Going

Gone home

A drawer full of winning, you never know when you need to do a thread repair. Especially on pre-owned Harleys.

That's gutsy, tapping without taking the cases apart. I've seen guys pressurize the case as they're tapping to push the chips out. I hope you got 'em all!

That bike's coming along nicely and looks really good!
