Glad to see it is not just my issue. Still will play with it again.

"Mine doesn't have an internal mount like yours seems to have though. The LED's are simply larger because those cooling fins stick out so much from the back. My outer trim ring holds the bulb in place in the bucket."
(added that to the above post.)

Pretty much the same. The eagle lights is a hair larger than the retaining ring. I cut the ring so it'd all go together. I'd like to think it can be done better than that.

I could try reducing the diameter of the headlight with a grinder/buffer. But do not want to void the warranty.

Going to sleep on it. Probably ignore it altogether, as long as the headlamp doesn't move around. I did use a couple dabs of rtv to set it. So the odds are good its the way it is....for a long time.

@Bubba Zanetti , yep, it's growing on me. Need a better stapler though, trip to the Depot is in order.

Got the rear prepped for the new slim turn signals, should just delete them. No one pays attention other the the popo. But why give any additional reasons to get stopped. That got old in the 80's, the four questions and maybe want to see your paperverk.

Got the vintage bags cleaned up as well. Bags had a white coating on them. SOm Lexol cleaned them right up, then hit them with some Danner boot dressing. I'll buff them out tomorrow, I guess.

Just nothing to do but some detail cleaning while waiting on the signals...sigh.

Studs on the bag will go nice with the studs on the seat.....Mustang seat you ****

What are you using to space the bags out away from the wheel? I have a set of bags I want to slap on my bike but need to get some ideas on how to keep them form going into the wheel or having the swingarm hit them when going over bumps.

The bags backing are rigid and 'look' like they'll stay clear by themselves. Otherwise I have a pair if saddlebag rails left over from a sporty. I'll adapt those if needed. Might have to do a spaced heat shield on the right bag, it's pretty close to the pipe outlet, and might roast.

Also have a great day idea for a support rail, I'll bend up some copper pipe to see if it'll work. But I'm still waiting on the reg and plates, have road tuning to do that ain't done yet.

Lots of ready made bits available,
https://www.google.com/search?q=Dyna+saddlebag+supports

After looking at the results, maybe I'll trade a hour of billable for a ready made solution.....remains to be seen

Edit: Seems its already made!

I've seen those store bought rails, I was thinking of fabbing my own for the Dyna. I did a pair for my Honda using some flat stock steel from the scrap bin at work.

Matter of fact I think I'll pop down there and scrounge through it today and see if theres anything useful.
