Default 1974 Super Glide

A friend, and Sunday School member passed away, he was 63, we berried him this morning. His 1974 super glide will be up for sale soon., I just sold my 1996 ultra classic because I was tired
of working on it, would I be crazy if I bought a 1974? The trike is for sale also, but that doesn't interest me, needs to much work

You should post this over in the Shovelhead section. You'd probably get more responses. That said from the single pic it looks like a nice custom. Think a lot depends on what's there, what's been done, how well maintained. Matching title and VIN# is really important. prices n custom scoots vary by geographical location it seems

You have to approach a shovelhead as a hobby. It will always require tinkering on something. Usually a lot of something.

If you're tired of working on your EVO, you're not gonna be happy with a shovel. Let someone else buy it.

I think you are right, I will be 75 in two weeks, I don't need another hobby bike...

Sorry for the loss of your friend.
I agree with the others and think passing is probably the right decision.

Everyone of you nay sayers are so out in left field.. I'm really surprised.. My 77 FXE was so freaking reliable that I had no issues doing long distance runs at 260 a day without issues...I worked less on that one than my 98 Fatboy.. if it's a good deal jump on it...... Think of it this way, would he have wanted you to have the bike?... Sorry for the loss of your friend.. 🙏

Yes I did and that don't doesn't constitute wether or not... Hell we have a member here of Abate for a very long time that is up in his 80's and still rides and organizes fund Raising functions throughout Suffolk County Long Island.. Might I say he is highly respected.. So please don't Question me ..

My memories of the Shovel was all wrench and no play. It keeps my nostalgia in check.

I'll stick with my Evos.
