It's hard to argue with OCD. There is also no doubt that the oil change is more complete with a scavenge.
I'm reminded however that while changing the oil 'conventionally' on my '00 Screamin' Eagle Road Glide over 14 years and 170,000 miles, my motor showed virtually no signs of 'age' while the rest of the motorcycle pretty much just wore itself out. So I suspect that the scavenge wouldn't demonstrate a significant increase in longevity, even if you kept the bike forever.
(But it does give you something to worry about, so there's that )
Thanks, all good points. Its not something I plan on doing every oil change. The main objective was just to make sure all the conventional has been replaced with synthetic. Thats really all I care about.
I guess I’m **** too, I always pump that nasty remaining oil out.Seems to keep the new oil, cleaner looking longer.Does it make a difference? Can’t say.
