Caused on the shifting issue I decided to change the whole geardrive and replaced it by an Ultima 6-speed geardrive.
All in all a good decision.
The only little problem was the exhaust tube which I have do reworked a little for better fitting cause the thicker bearing housing moved the exhaust to much outside.
The Screamin Eagle OD 6 speed also used a thicker bearing plate ('03-up style) and there was a specific (HD) release cover (and rod) that had to be used to allow proper fitment of the exhaust. I've ever used any of these parts but should work.
The arrangement you have now for your exhaust will be never ending trouble and expense, of that I'm certain.
