I’m wondering if that leak might be working out around that bottom screw. Have you tried putting silicone on the screw itself before running it in the hole..??
That non-hardening aviation sealant is good stuff. That might work as well, maybe better.

I'll give that a go. I always use Loctite 567 on sump/drain plugs so I'll try that with the old memade gasket while waiting for the new one to arrive. I make most of my gakets. The reason I use Permatex #3 is most of the time I can reuse the gasket.
