BTW I have an empty Shovelhead style RubberGlide Tranny Case... Put whatever guts you want to in it... excepting post ?? 1993??? IDK when that changed... maybe it didn't; One day I will put some guts in it and see how late it can go...
Only issue I'd see is getting the ring gear to match the starter depending on what year you use. You may have to find the correct inner primary depending on the starter. I don't remember what year or model they swapped from the old shovel starter to the all in one unit and clutch. Bendix gear is different between them.
FYI the rubberband 5 speed FLT was made from 1980 on, 82 & 82 were the only FRX shovel 5 speeds. Same trans.
