Default Crate EVO Engine install

Question is, do I need to pump up lifters when I get engine set in in order for it to be ready to run?

No,just be sure to prime the oil pump. I like to turn the engine over enough times to get the oil pressure light to go out before starting it, too.

No on the lifters. Prime your oil pump, pull your plugs and crank til you get oil pressure and return to the tank. Then start normally.

I leave the plugs wired and grounded, as I have "heard" that the some ignitions may be damaged otherwise, also be aware, the slightest bit low battery is likely to cause "run on". Especially without compression. I vice grip the Negative in place for Quick removal...just in case...

As mentioned that is OEM sensor and it needs to be replaced.

See the beige potting “goo” melting and running down? That means your iggy is giving up the ghost.

Opinions vary but I like the Dynatek 2000i

https://www.dynaonline.com/dyna-2000...odels-d2ki-1p/

The lowest priced option is a standard motors product direct replacement of that very same sensor you have now. It will retain the factory set curve. The Dynatek has different selectable curves and is programmable.

Sorry don't have the part number for the standard motors product (I'm at work) but it is like 50 bucks and an amazon item. Others will chime in with the part number for you. If not, I will post it this eve.

As mentioned earlier, using the part number on your existing module (32400-80a) here is the replacement for it:
