Carb - Cabke Guide Nut #27580-88
I hate go there but - just the fact you're asking tells me you're about to f up something or have you already?... no offense
Haven't messed anything up. Already had the choke cable off, but didn't check the but while it was off. Figured I might get lucky and not have to remove it. 🙂

I have very few metric tools and zero special metric ones. Best I can measure (and see) it's 12mm -1.0 and that size doesn't come in a basic tap/die set.

So, the hole inside that nut is 6.5 mm on the thread side and 6.3 mm on the cable side. It's not a straight bore, there is an abutment in there. The metal cable guide elbow is 6.2 mm OD on the carb side and the cable end is 5.8mm ID, 6mm OD. If yours is only the metal elbow, you need the rubber cover on there. It acts as somewhat of a seal for the cable housing-to-carb.
I'll repeat myself - if you use anything beside the correct pieces (pictured below) you're gonna be very unhappy with the results.
If your choke cable looks like this, it's incorrect and for a Mukuni. The cable and **** are different, the nut is same threads but the plunger will not seal correctly in a CV enricher bore and the return spring is longer also.
So put the correct pieces on your CV40 and it'll serve you well. Anything else will be a disappointment.

Just go buy a new cable from the dealer. It will have a new black nut on it that may be metal or plastic. 29229-88D
In the picture shown that is the nut on the cable that holds the choke/enrichner cable in place on the left side of the engine being silver coloured, that is different than the HD cable. The HD cable has a black plastic nut with the washer that holds it in place. So the cable shown likely is the Mikuni cable or somebody has changed the nut.
The plastic nut on the pieces that go to the carb seals off the opening, so you wouldn't want metal there.
