I am working on a new project. A 1994 Heritage softail. I have ordered a 27 tooth compensator gear to eliminate the factor 25 to lower rpm's on the hwy. Problem I am having is locating a 83 link primary chain. Factory is 82 but the gear manufacturer says a 83 must be used. Has anyone a idea where I could locate one? I did email Diamond chain to see if they could make one for me. Waiting to hear back.

 

Ask the gear supplier where they would get one.

 

I did. V-Twin said they had no idea. Kinda figured.

 

Look up primary chain brands then email them directly. I'd also be looking at maybe modifying the adjuster to get the stock chain to work.

I'd email this place and see if they can supply a custom length. 82 or 84 are the only HD choices off the shelf.

I doubt you'll find a primary chain that has 83 rollers. The problem is that you need a half link added to the chain.
