Cleaning Carburetor
Haven't cleaned the Carburetor on Evo that hasn't run in three years, cleaned tank, petcock, fuel lines, bike runs but coughs a little above idle, and can't seem to get the idle right, throttle cables look frayed in several place in outer black casing...and idle cable is all the way in for the throttle to return, seems to bind and not rotate back to orignal position if adjusted any.
Should I just replace the throttle cables and get a good adjustment, and run it some more hoping that new gas with clean it out, or take it apart?

Cables need attention at least and an intake leak check would be a good idea. Add some Seafoam to the gas, clean or replace the spark plugs and do some highway miles. That doesn't help, carb cleaning time
