Default Front suspension squat

95 fatboy. 35,000 miles. Standing the bike up after it has been on the jiffy stand, the front end squats about an inch. Should I be expecting to replace the springs or just fluid? Thank you

87000 miles and I have replaced the fluid only every couple of years ….have had discolored fluid but don’t feel or see any problems

Replacing the fluid will not make the bike sit higher.

The springs have been supporting the weight of the bike for 28 years and 35,000 miles, they are done.

If the steering head bearings have never been serviced now is the time to clean and repack them, because the original grease will be dried out.

I mean at this point, probably not be a bad idea to just do a rebuild + upgrade on the stock forks. Like progressive springs and cartridge emulators.

If you like the fork action/damping (ride) just put spacers on the springs to take up the "sag" and Ride On!!!!

Progressive springs and rebuild if there is a leak, otherwise I would not separate the tubes and sliders.

With the bike upright measure from the bottom of the cowbell to the end of the widest point of the slider and tell us what you got. Should have somewhere around 2 in if you have less than that you can always put a plug in the top.. or get new springs I like Progressives..

Not sure because I haven't used stock springs in over 20 years, but do the stockers use plugs like Progressive springs?
