Im fighting a stumble or something around 2k rpms. It feels like it gets a shot or two of water as it will stumble and fart around before clearing up. It has the original kihen butterfly carb which has been rebuilt and cleaned. I pulled the plugs after a highway run and they weee not gas fouled. I did shoot some carb cleaner into the air bleeds which seemed to help on the last ride. Any one got any ideas? Not interested in changing carbs.
Honestly I'd chitcan that carb and swap it to a CV 40,I did the swap on my '84 FXRS years ago with a carb off a 92 FXR and it not only run a lot better both cold and warm but it had better throttle response and even got better gas mileage.
My 2cts.
When's the last time the intake seals were changed? Other than that 2k rpm isn't really where you should be riding, things will smooth out over 2700rpms.
Nothing wrong with a Stock Carb, If ya learn to Tune it..
t150vej has got ya started down a Good Road... Follow up!!
Even if the Acceleraror pump is the Very Last thing I concern myself with...It is an Excellent band aid for a Less than Perfect Tune..
PS... While carb is Off for cleaning...Is the idle jet screw exposed???
