Default 1995 FXSTS.....Tips for selling requested

I'm going to sell my 29 year old Springer Softail and would appreciate any suggestions or tips. I've had is since new. It has 32k miles. Looks good, starts and runs fine.

Take good pictures focused on the bike. Not a lot of crap in the background to distract from it. Take pictures with the windshield off. List it with as much description/detail as you can. Advertise in as many sites as you can. Racingjunk.com bringatrailer.com cycle trader etc.... GLWS

Just take care of anything that might be considered "neglect" or needs taken care of, however if you frequent this forum, then chances are you have not "neglected" your bike.

Also, be honest. That bike will sell itself unless you are going for crazy money. Good luck with the sale.

I have owned a 90 and currently own a 93 fxsts. This is my absolute favorite bike past 1969 that Harley has ever produced. Unfortunately.. understand for whatever reason they don’t seem to bring big money. Between $4,500 & $$6,500 seems to be where they sell at. My 90 had 6,000 original miles and a list of extras a mile long and I paid $4500 for it before it was stolen in June of 2023. My 93 I paid top dollar for and completely tore it to the frame and built up. I was just desperate to have another that was Black because I didn’t want to repaint.

My advice, keep it. To me it’s the most valuable motorcycle HD has produced since before 1969. I still weekly watch cycle trader just to see what EVO springers bring.
I think you’ll regret selling. I wouldn’t trade mine for three 2024 M8’s with 135” motors.

I see Springers in my area listing for between $6000 to $9000. I don't know what the actual selling price is, but they usually don't stay listed for very long unless the seller is asking stupid money for it.

As you know HD is no longer building Springers so they are becoming quite a bit more desirable than other Softails, Dynas, or Touring bikes from the same era.

My 90… I’d still buy it back if I ever found out what happened to it.

Well, Bring A Trailer will only list my bike if I agree to list it with no reserve. No thank you.

Can't you refuse a price if it's to low?

Gorgeous bike! Love those mid-90's colors!

I'm with YD: Assuming you aren't way, way out of bounds on your price, that bike will sell itself.

Couple of tips on the pix you take: Get down on your belly and take pics from ground level. They show the bike better. Go around the bike and take pix of the six worst blemishes. Scratches/chips/scuffs/etc. I think it adds a lot of credibility to a listing when you aren't afraid to show those. Any serious buyer knows a 30ish year old bike isn't going to be pristine. I like the way you took the bike to a park to take the pix you showed already. Looks good. Another trick is to take your pix during the first of hour after sunrise, or in the last hour before sunset. The softer light flatters the bike. Avoid the high, mid-day sun.

With a bike that special, I wouldn't bother putting it up anywhere that's going to charge you fees. I'd put it up on FB Marketplace. Odds are you'll move it in the first week.

You should have no issues selling that bike, looks well maintained and not modified.
Depends on local market conditions since it is old, it’s not going to be even looked at by half the people looking for a bike. Me I would be all over it.
6-9k range FYI, I sold my 97 Bad Boy for 9300 on EBay 3 years ago.
