Stage 2 was a SE3 cam same numbers as a EV27, red injectors allowed more flow, a flash cartage doing nothing more than raising the rev limiter, the extra fuel from the red injectors was it's fuel addition. Ran better but sluggish on the bottom end due to 8 5-1 compression and EV27 like numbers

Evo has 10.5-1 pistons made for SE Heads, this could be the Stage 3 plus using the S&S ECM but just guessing.

For a couple of weeks now I have been reading Donny Petersen's Volume IV: Performancing the Evolution and it is full of information concerning the Screamin' Eagle modifications on the Evo engine. I wish that I had purchased this book a couple of years ago. It contains more after-market information than I want to know but the SE modifications are thoroughly covered. I just have to glean it here and there throughout the book because it is not Screamin' Eagle specific.

What would this indicate on my 98 RK?? It came from already came from the dealership with Vance and Hines slip ons and a screaming eagle air filtered.. I’ve always wandered if this indicates addition work, from dealer this way as well. Says screaming eagle

It means someone replaced the lifter blocks at one time. Sometimes it means additional work inside, sometimes it means they were just dressing it up when possibly repairing worn blocks and new lifters..
