Just out of curiosity could excessive crankcase pressure cause oil to push past the seal? or would I be seeing other problems? I am using a non stock oil filter (supertech) but as I dive deeper into the rabbit hole it is my understanding that the Evo filter needs to be 30 microns with no drain back valve (so says S&S), I was using the supertech as the internet gods said it was acceptable replacement, however; I will be going back to stock oil filter (or S&S), and the breather system (to atmosphere) seems to be working fine, no blockages, or kinks in the hose, or is the spacer/oil seal the main culprit? I will say, I replaced the seal about a year ago but not the spacer, will be replacing both this time.

Age & heat degrade seals, yours is an 88, way into the red for life expectancy. 88 or 89 models had a problem with the cast in boss coming loose in the case and pushing oil into primary also. A call to the moco or a dealer visit with the VIN should tell you if yours way in that group.

Is there away to check it, when I grab the crank shaft and push and pull on it, it is solid as the Rock of Gibraltar.
