Got the bloody thing out! PITA removing the rear pipe as it's joined to the front (std cross over pipe) and I'd just sealed it all up last week.
Hopefully the Ultima is OK, I put a Dyna 2Kip in a mates years ago.

If it's a stalling issue that seems related to the carb, idle and choke,
why are you screwing with the ignition module?
It sounds more like a carb, float issue.
What indicates a spark issue?

 

G'day Ranger.
Just the way it was cutting out. She would start straight up within seconds of cutting out and the time span was getting shorter and shorter till there was no spark. Then the next day no spark at all.
Now I've got the module out I'll do the tests that T150 gave the link for. Even if it tests OK it's not going back in.
Ultima ignition should be here tomorrow so should have her going for the weekend. I'm itching for a ride now the rain has stopped.

Got the module off the bottom of the oil tank. What a bugga of a place to put it. Yep it's fried.

You bl@@dy beauty. All good. 1 minute of choke, 30 seconds of 1/2 choke settled into a nice idle, like a sabre toothed tiger. Took her out for a short ride and was impressed. Goes better & sounds better. No hint of air leak. Was asurprised by the different exhaust note going from duel to single fire.
