Even 40 years ago my friends that had those hard tails could not ride the 300-400 miles to a rally without many breaks. Good bar hopper tho.

I disliked having to stop at 80-100 miles then, or now. Especially back then as I had some cutie waiting on me. And sometimes she didn't even know she was waiting on me.

The seat can make all the difference on a rigid. Im not just talking cushion, the kick up in the back of the seat that provides you with more lumbar and posture support can be the difference between an uncomfy ride and doing longer miles without needing to stop. I used to run a Lepera Bare Bones on my softail and even with the suspension the lack of lower back support on that seat made riding uncomfortable for longer than 30 mins. My bike is now hardtailed and I use a spring seat with much more kickup in the rear and I can ride far longer before taking a break.
