None of my CV's run same jetting as the old Ka-sneeze...and the "N" Cam...does Suck Pond Water...while the "L" is basically the Andrews EV-23.
But, Most Carburetor Problems are actually something else!! We should start with..."is it a Cough, or a Backfire out exhaust"????? Maybe a simple Misfire???
I was thinking at that, but cannot realise exactly what it is.
It happens at constant cruising, about one time in 5 miles, at about 1/4 throttle and it is not a real explosion into the exhaust.
It is not noisy, sounds like "boop" into the exhausts and engine doesn't pulls during that "boop"

Interesting... I'm gonna suggest you check Very Carefully, for an Intake Leak...however slight!!!
Good Place to Start tho...it is Possible the Carb...as in, maybe the Enricher is Not sealing/seating when pushed?
I too have Never seen such a Jetting setup.. truly a 45 Intermediate is Alot!!! But, every Engine is it's Own Entity!!!
In manual, I see a quite big difference in the size of the jets, speaking for the same EVO engine..
CV carb was introduce in '90, I think, my engine is from '87 and carb is from '92.
Look at the jet sizes from 1990 and later. Anything before that could be the jets from the older butterfly carb, and some of the early CV's did not come with an accelerator pump so more jetting voo doo.
As mentioned, if your intake seals have some age on them, swap the out with new. Your issue is starting to sound like a lean cough or sneeze?? Again, go with the jetting I mentioned earlier.
