They make tiny little bottles, hard platic size of thumb. I might have one, might have a tube on some bikes. I used ot carry some, cant remember if i still do.
I am also a big fan of anti seize.
I am not a big fan of the studs. So an after market leather bag would be ok to me,
Yeah, I'm not gonna use aftermarket bags on a limited-edition model that's otherwise in excellent condition.
Years ago riding to Sturgis there were several bag tops in or on the shoulder of the road. I learned early to drill the pivot on the front of the bag and put a push pin in. Never wanted to decorate the road with a lid.
FYI: there is at least blue loctite in a chap stick tube available. It doesn't leak, but it does dry up at the top after a month or so. If it's not waxy but hard, just trim off the hard bit and use it.
Wow, what did that bag set you back? I was looking for those same bags but without the studs for my '99 and they were expensive.
If I could have bought it from their eBay storefront it was only about $260 USD. But I couldn't get it shipped to Canada unless I bought it off their website (vpartsinc) so had to pay about $320 USD.
Still, I was glad to pay it because I didn't think there was any way I'd be able to find a brand-new one anywhere. If they had also had the left bag I'd have bought it too.

You got off easy. I have done stupid **** that cost way more that that.
Safety wire and tabbed locking washers (as used to retain inner primary covers) are even better and best used with Loctited threads to exclude moisture. Tabbed washers for use with safety wire permit safetying any hex fastener they fit.
Re: anaerobics I use mostly red Loctite (gel for less waste) with application varied by fastener and have never sheared a fastener so retained. I don't bother buying blue since I can apply less red for similar results.
I also use an X-4 mechanical torque multiplier on compensator nuts which doesn't shock load bearings and can be used in either direction. I tried one since it was cheap and now I know I'd sin by paying full retail because they are that good. I can remove a comp nut whose threads
were red Loctited with a long ratchet using one hand, no pipe extension needed.
All-steel lock nuts are my friends. I use them anywhere I can and Loctite those too.
