An Expensive Lesson Learned - Loctite EVERYTHING!

Good story. Sad but ya learned something. Albeit the hard way. I was reminded about something that happened to a friend back in 1980 when he thought he was getting flagged over for sex.
He had a Bandit Trans AM and pulled up alongside a babe in a van. They flirted a bit, he did some showing off racing up and back with his car. She jabbed her thumb towards the back of the van and mouthed the words "Let's hop in the back!" This got him even more excited and he about lost control of his car. Then reality struck. Along with red lights and a siren.
What she really was saying was "There's a cop in back!" Yeah, he got a ticket and lost the chick.

1989 going to CA from Sturgis, 1985 FLH. Shifters come loose from the inside the inner primary side. I am up on the highway pegs and have no idea until downshift to exit State Road 85 near Lusk WY. Saturday evening. I spent the weekend in Cheyenne. Tow truck took me to the Ranger Inn motel. I had to change out the clutch discs in the parking lot. You shouldn't try to do everything in 5th gear!!

I go on a trip every year with my dad, brother and another friend. Theres a running joke that its not our yearly trip until something falls off my bike and I DO use loctite. This year it was one of the nuts that hold the air filter on. The second was loose but still there. I noticed it on day 4 when the entire air cleaner assembly and carb started shaking real bad. Stroker evo motor vibrates a lot until I get up to cruising speed.
