Default Help with Clevis bolt

Hi Guys,
Im finding this Bolt a pain to release, could someone confirm it’s a normal thread please and any experiences for releasing……been putting some pressure behind to the point im getting nervous the head might spin..
FYI I want to rotate the Clevis to sit between the mufflers.
Thanks

Should be 5/16"-24 R/H threads from the looks of it, But without knowing what bike it is...

Yes, like all bolts on a Harley Davidson it is R/H thread.

The only L/H threads on any H-D are the clutch hub nut and the transmission sprocket nut on 5 speed and earlier transmissions.

I bit of penetrol, or other type of liquid wrench. Tap it with a hammer a few times and let it sit……even overnight.
Only other option would be to heat it…..

Good ideas,

I put a penetrating oil into it, will leave overnight and perhaps tap it tomorrow along with a blow torch

Thanks

Use a big Crescent (adjustable) wrench on the clevis, it’s easier to turn the”nut”.
You can throw a little heat on the clevis with a propane or map torch first in case it has loctite in it, doesn’t take much to release the thread locker, about 200*

Can also try a long tapered punch in the clevis for leverage, acetone in nail polish remover will also dissolve locktite
