Just on this Job right now and this write up has been perfect - I cant seem to find and torque value for that damper screw at the bottom for re assembly tho, yep I have searched right though my workshop manual but perhaps Im word blind ?

doing an online search and found a reference that when converted I get to 15-25 Nm

Appreciated if anyone knows -thanks

The book doesn't give a torque value. Only mention is to use an air impact to remove.

The internals roll around so trying for a specific tightening value is not feasible.

I've tightened them with a TQ wrench..

If Royston is referring to a 25 cvo I suspect it's the same as a 17 touring which is 30 to 37 fp.. It a 12mm screw IIRC. The one for an evo is likely 8mm which would be 132 to 216 in lbs. The manuals I have say it's 6mm but that is the socket head size and not the thread..

The '17 49mm fork damper bolt is larger than the 41mm, I wouldn't think it would be 30 fp.
Just tighten it, or as the book says "secure it"

Thanks guys - it was the 6mm head for my 1999 Evo - I have taken it (both) to 20Nm, (I converted the 132-216 earlier today then kept it on the light side to be safe) it seems snug so will leave it there.
