Default Silver EVO Engines
I'm restoring a 1990 Fatboy that has a silver engine and trans. Did any other year bikes with EVO's have silver engines besides the FXR4?

I've seen a few evos with silver powder coats.

Off the top of my head. The early softail standards came silver as well as the FLHS and dyna super glide.

Lots of Evo engine bikes had silver engines.

The engines were silver, the rocker boxes, primary covers, cam covers etc were polished aluminum.

Then how did they get like that or what was it? My buddies FLHS looks like gray powder coat, but its old so I don't know how it left Milwaukee.

TC88 FLHTs were also grey. Lot of people did not like it and was seen as cheap option to some. Which is why the FLHT had it,

Pretty sure it was just sandblasted raw aluminum on those

So in theory it would hold up better than black powder coat?
