That’s what I said..lol. Is what it is. Breather took a lot too. It was just the standard Cometic set and a bone stock 97.

Well, unless the tip does not extend well thru the outer breather spacer, it'll be rattling around in the cam chest and the gears in there will be very unhappy, especially is the spacer is steel.

I’m not sure I understand your advice? I have everything right within tolerance.. but it took especially thick spacers, thicker than I e ever had to use in the past to meet those specs.

I’ve blue printed and assembled at minimum 35-40 Harley engines at this point in my life. Almost all solids and Shovel. I’ve probably done at least that many cam swaps. I’ve never seen any needing that much shim. But it is what it is. I didn’t measure wrong. The gasket isn’t thicker.. it’s just how this stock 97 was. The cam I installed was another EV27. Nothing different there.

I've tried to look back to see what I misunderstood. I thought you had 2 spacer son the breather gear is where I was messed up. 2 spacers on a cam is no big deal.

Breather took the widest thickest spacer I had and it’s a touch on the sloppy side. The cam got two… the widest from two packs.
